In an unusual incident, one leading automaker was having trouble with tarnish and corrosion on SUV frames during shipment. The process oil used on the frames could not be removed before packaging and was eating holes through the VCI film (non-Cortec®). This allowed tarnish and corrosion to occur and the frames to be rejected. When the customer substituted wide-width grease resistant CorShield® VpCI® -148 Paper, the problem was solved, and the tarnish and corrosion were eliminated. At approximately 2.5 meters wide, the CorShield® VpCI® -148 Paper was ideally suited for this application size and only available from Cortec® as a solution for shipping the large frames corrosion-free.
